Wisconsin football celebrates the Legacy Reunion Today

Players from the 1930s through the 2010s to be introduced prior to the game today
MADISON, Wis. – Nearly 300 former Wisconsin football players will descend on Madison this weekend to take part in the Badger Football Legacy Reunion, hosted by the National W Club. As part of the festivities, the players will be introduced to the crowd at Camp Randall Stadium before the Badgers take on Oregon State.
Prior to the game, a tailgate will be held for the former players, their families and guests. Nearly 800 guests are expected to take part. The pre-game introduction will begin at approximately 10:45 a.m. The players will be introduced by decade, starting with Richard Thornally, who lettered from 1939-42. He is one of 16 players who lettered for the Badgers before 1950.
Among the players returning on Saturday are All-Americans Dan Lanphear, Pat Richter, Billy Marek, Matt Vanden Boom, Tarek Saleh, Jamar Fletcher, Dan Buenning and Taylor Mehlhaff. In all, a total of 28 former NFL players, including Norm Amundsen, Charles Belin, Larry Canada, Don Davey, Gary Ellerson, Bill Ferrario, Neil Graff, Nick Greisen, Ross Kolodziej, Gary Kroner, Ralph Kurek, Michael London, Ira Matthews, Thad McFadden, Jim Melka, Bobby Myers, Nate Odomes, Pat O’Donahue, Darryl Sims, Jerry Stalcup, Al Toon and Stu Voigt, will be on the field.
Fletcher, the 2000 Jim Thorpe Award winner as the nation’s best defensive back, will act as the football team’s honorary captain and participate in the pre-game coin toss with Badger captains Patrick Butrym, Bradie Ewing, Aaron Henry and Russell Wilson.
